Sewing Along......

I sure am enjoying sewing.  Although when I sewed my first zipper last week, I had to keep reminding myself that I sew for enjoyment.  Anyway, it is good to accomplish some projects that have been stacked in the sewing room.
I need to get back to quilting the never ending Bear Paw Quilt.

There's a New Dog in Town

The loss of a pet is never easy.  We have been grieving our Princess since we lost her on Dec. 19, 2012.  Sunny still misses her.  She doesn't like to be alone and cries if she is not near us.

We found a little lhasa apso and terrier boy who needed a home.  Sunny isn't lonely anymore, but I'll bet she wishes for some peace and quiet.

Jonah is a little pumpkin.
He is still on "probation" however.  He needs to learn that outside is where he needs to go potty.

This is him just after a bath.  Not very happy, I might add!
Baths can be so tiring!

Sewing right along.......

I have been sewing up a storm.  Little M.  loves her skirts.  She requested another made from the Emerson skirt pattern, this time with a pleated skirt and cherry dolly dresses fabric.  I love this print.
After I took this picture, I made her a matching sash.

My oldest daughter  is so hard to find modest dresses for.  We did find one she liked at Goodwill, but it was too short.  We went to Joann Fabric and found some matching brown fabric.  We added a 6 inch strip and some ribbon and it is better than new.  The best part is that she loves it!  A great dress for under $7.00

Sunny Days

We have been enjoying some beautiful sunny days.  It went from the 20's last week, to the 80's this week.  Lots of time has been spent outdoors hanging up laundry, making sun tea, starting a garden, and enjoying the animals.
The girls are off of their "winter vacation" and have started laying eggs again.  The littlest farmers have started their egg business.  They are dividing up their earnings and saving it for their future.  What a wonderful homeschool lesson in math.  We are also eating lots of eggs........deviled, red beet, quiche, omelets.  I am hoping to try a few new recipes such as ice cream, homemade mayo.

Retirement Quilt Finished!!

I started a retirement quilt for our Pastor's wife on Feb. 6.  It is the pattern called Clay's Choice.  The top was machine pieced and hand quilted.  The top was quilted and finished on March 7.  This past weekend I finally finished binding it.  It is washed and ready to be given.
